First, my background. My husband Darren and I had been married for just a few years when the problems started. At first, they were just little arguments. But soon, they became battles. We fought endlessly. Eventually we stopped talking. At one point, I was sure he was having an affair. I realized that we had to do something, otherwise we would end up in divorce. So I approached Darren and told him we needed to do something.
Guess what? He refused to acknowledge that anything was wrong. He added he couldn’t care less about our marriage. I knew then that I had to figure out how to save your marriage alone or we were doomed.
Which is where the real trouble began. You see, I was trying to figure out how to save your marriage alone and I’m no expert. So I did what I thought was right –
- I made a list of everything I figured was wrong, then started going through the list, thinking anything would help. They didn’t.
- I made him go for counseling with me. That bombed big time.
- Finally, I suggested a trial separation, figuring we would miss each other. That made things worse. NOTHING was working.
Out of sheer desperation, I started looking on the Internet for “how to save your marriage alone” advice. Well, I found a lot of rubbish. But thank God I also found the book that saved us.
“Save My Marriage Today” not only showed me why everything I was doing was wrong but how they made things worse.
I learned why trying to rush the process with a to-do list is a big no-no because personal feelings are involved. I discovered how a trial separation will only let you both adjust to single life again (bad!) and why counseling doesn’t always work.
Instead, the book taught me how to save your marriage alone the right way. Like, how to get your spouse to fall in love with you again. And, how to make sure that disagreements don’t explode into fights and how to come to a solution that satisfies both of you.

A warning though — this book is thick, over 150 pages long. But it’s worth a read, with a lot of solid, practical how to save your marriage alone advice sprinkled throughout.
I’m pretty sure that Darren and I wouldn’t be together today if I hadn’t come across the how to save your marriage alone advice in this book. I hope you found my story useful and I pray that everything works out in your marriage.
